Materials: Red wire 0.60mm, 4mm (size 7) hook
or a yarn of your own choice & with appropriate size hook
Stitches used: Double Crochet – (dc) (USA-Single Crochet)
Chain St - (ch)
Slip Stitch - (sl st)
Half Treble – (ht) (USA Half Double)
Treble Crochet – (tr) (USA-Double Crochet)
Pattern: Make 8 ch & close into a ring with 1 sl st into the 1st ch. Make 1 ch.
Round 1:
1 ht into next ch make 1 ch, 1 tr into next ch make 1 ch
1 dc into next ch make 1 ch, 1 ht, 1 tr & 1ht into next ch make 1 ch
1 dc into next ch make 1 ch, 1 tr into next ch make 1 ch
1 ht into next ch make 1 ch, 1 dc into next ch
Round 2:
1 dc into next ch space, 1 ht into next ht, 1 tr into next tr ch space,
1 tr into next dc, 1 ht into next ch space, 1 dc into next dc,
1 dc into ch space, 1 dc into ht, 1 ht into next space between ht & tr
1 tr into tr, 1 ht into next space between tr & ht, 1 dc into next ht,
1 dc into next ch space, 1 ht into next ch space, 1 tr into next dc,

1 sl st to finish
For the loop:
If using wire twist end tightly and make a loop, weave end into back of pendent to secure. Make sure ends are well woven in and have no sharp edges.
If using yarn make several chains to required size and sew ends into back.
Note: With or without a loop the heart also looks nice attached to a card for a very personal valentines card
